Paul Coleman, age 64, died at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, Illinois, on Tuesday October 23, 2018. The cause was cardiac arrest.
Born September 16, 1954, in Belleville, Illinois. Paul was the fifth child of Joe and Margie Coleman. Paul was an all-state football player at Belleville West High School, earning a football scholarship to attend Western Illinois University. While at Western Illinois University, Paul earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology (1977) and a Master's in Business (1984).
He was an Adjunct Professor in the School of Business at St. Louis University. Paul was actively involved in social, political, and educational issues which improved the lives of countless people; both local and abroad. Paul believed in fitness and healthy living. In addition to his wife and daughter, Paul had a passion for his pets (Offie and Zeus) and working on his Mercedes Benz.
Preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Virginia Woodson Mitchell and Leroy Solomon Mitchell, paternal grandparents Thomas Leroy Coleman and Frances Coleman. Parents, Joe Nathanial and Margie Coleman. Siblings Anthony Dean (Tony), Deborah, and Joe Jr.
Survivors include wife Martha (nee Crocker), daughter Tamara. Siblings, Dr. Nancy Greer-Williams, Phoenix AZ, Thomas L, Hopewell, VA; Charles M (Robin) Frisco, TX; Darla (Donald Ray) Goodwin, Mascoutah, IL.
Services, Memorial Mass, will be held on Saturday October 27, 11:00 am, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 1700 West Main St. Belleville, Illinois, with Fr. Paul Habing Officiating. Family and friends will gather at Eckert's Country Store, Belleville immediately following.
