Patricia A. “Pat” Lyerla, 81, of Highland, IL, formerly of St. Jacob, IL, born January 3, 1945, in Granite City, IL, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Pat was a former member of St. Jacob Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years. Pat loved people and loved being in community with others. She did not know a stranger. She held several jobs through the years, starting with Wagner Electric Co. in St. Louis and then retiring from State Bank of St. Jacob. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with family, whether that be trips to Las Vegas or the local bingo halls. She was an avid bowler, golfer, pool player, and softball player. She appreciated beautiful gardens, flowers, and plants. Pat loved musicals and would belt out a tune regardless of where she was or who was present. She rarely missed a Cardinal baseball game. She loved her fur babies, the latest being Snickers. Most of all, her life was about her family and making sure they were loved, cared for, and happy.

She was preceded in death by her great-granddaughter, Lorelei Wrobbel; parents, Irl Pabst and Edna (nee Davis) King; in-laws, Eldred Lyerla and Deon (nee Redman) Lyerla; her brother, Irl Pabst; two brothers-in-law, James Franko and Donald Lyerla; and her sister, JoAnn Franko.

Surviving are her beloved husband, Norman “Sandy” Lyerla whom she married July 11, 1970, at St. John Lutheran in Granite City, IL; her children, Tammy (Eric “Duff”) Wrobbel and John Lyerla of Highland, IL; her grandchildren, Parker (Johannah) Wrobbel and Holland Wrobbel; brother Charles Pabst; sisters-in-law, Rosemary Pabst and Margaret Lyerla; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
