Opal E. Manwaring, 97, of Trenton, IL, born Tuesday, March 13, 1923 in St. Morgan, IL and passed away peacefully on Monday, April 13, 2010 in Highland, IL.

Opal loved and cherished her family and the time spent with them. She was a devoted St. Louis Cardinal fan. Her other hobbies were reading, vegetable gardens and her beautiful flower gardens that were her pride and joy, she also enjoyed crocheting and was proud of making afghans for all her family members.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Manwaring whom she married November 25, 1947 and he passed away on August 18, 2007; her sons, Craig Lawrence and Ricky William Manwaring; parents, Lawrence and Ellen (Rieger) Monken; brothers, Melvin, Clyde and Norman Monken; and her sister, Ethel Monken.

Surviving are her daughter, Laurie Manwaring of Highland, IL; grandchildren, Melissa (Bryan Jadot) Manwaring, Erin (Scott) Burmahl, Anna (Kevin) Hanrahan, Joshua (Krista) Manwaring, Emma (Corey) Wagner, Marcus (Chrissy) Manwaring and Benjamin Steiner; great-grandchildren, Liam, Kyle and Sebastian Jadot, Ava Burmahl, Ellie, Jack and Claire Hanrahan, Annie, Genavieve and Ruby Wagner, Chloe, William and Calamay Manwaring; her daughters-in-law, Maureen Manwaring and Marsha Ray; and her sister, Joyce Monken Giger.
