Oneida Daisy Faires, 98, of St. Jacob, Ill., born Jan. 19, 1914, in Black Jack, Ill., died Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at Alhambra Care Center, Alhambra, Ill.

Mrs. Faires was an active long time member of First United Methodist Church of St. Jacob, where she led the MYF for 25 plus years and was a member of the Farm Bureau.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Faires whom she married on June 30, 1935, in Waterloo, Ill., and who died Feb. 29, 1964; a son, James Lewis Faires; her parents, James Thomas and Matilda, nee Shardan, Wells; and a brother, James Joseph Wells.

Surviving are her two sons, Jerry (Sandra) Faires of St. Jacob, Ill., and Denny (Vivian) Faires of Highland, Ill.; daughter, Cheryl (Jim) Cochran of Collinsville, Ill.; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Keystone Cemetery in St. Jacob, Ill.

Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, June 18, 2012, at First United Methodist Church, St. Jacob, Ill.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 18, 2012, at the church with Rev. Marty Pablo officiating. Burial will be at Keystone Cemetery, St. Jacob, Ill.
