Obituary

Norman August Niebruegge, 91, born April 14, 1926, in Collinsville, Ill., and passed away peacefully Thursday, June 1, 2017, at his home.

Norman was a faithful, lifelong member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Troy, Ill. For over 29 years, Norman was a dedicated employee of Schmitt Chevrolet, O'Fallon, Ill., where he proudly worked in the office until several days before his death. He was previously employed by Jack Butler Chevrolet, Edwardsville, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his parents, August and Edna Niebruegge; and his brother, Donald Niebruegge.

Surviving are his wife, Virginia, nee Gaultney, Niebruegge, whom he married August 15, 1948; their children, Linda Craig, Mel (Jody) Niebruegge, and Harold (Lisa) Niebruegge. He was grandpa to Scott (Robin) Craig, Angela Niebruegge, Adam Craig, Shawn (Emily) Niebruegge, Erica (Tony) Sipes, Jacob Niebruegge, and Sarah Niebruegge. He was greatgrandpa (pa-pa) to Ella and Everett Sipes, Abigail and August Niebruegge, and Sophia Niebruegge. He is also survived by his sister, Evelyn (Jack) Schmitt.

Friends may visit from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 5, 2017, at Richeson Funeral Home, Troy, Ill., and 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 6, 2017, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Troy, Ill.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 6, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Troy, Ill., with Rev. Mitchel Schuessler officiating. Internment will be in the church cemetery.
