Norma M. Bond, age 82, formerly of O'Fallon, Illinois, died August 24, 2010 at Countryside Manor in Mount Vernon, IL. with her children by her side.

Norma had worked many years as a sales clerk for Famous & Barr. She was a member of Winstanley Baptist Church, Fairview Heights, IL.; Daughters of the Nile Al Sihah Temple No. 29; Order of the Jesterettes; Ainad Belles, and founding member of FRIENDS.

Norma will be lovingly remembered for her engaging smile and laughter, and her eagerness to listen and share daily occurences with family and friends. She was an avid Cardinal fan, cheering her team on from the bleachers. Norma Bond was truly a Steward for God.

She was preceded in death by her wonderful husband, Paul Eugene Bond; parents, Forrest Millard and Grace Lillian, nee Thompson, Friedman; and a sister, Wanda J. Friedman.

Surviving are her sons, Mark Bond of Mt. Vernon, IL.; Steve (Lynn) Bond of Guntersville, AL.; daughter, Cheryl Morgan of Noblesville, IN.; grandchildren, Rob (Jodi) Gentry, Matt (Angie) Morgan, Katherine (Kati) Bond, Erin Bond, Margaret (Maggie) Bond, Justin Bond, Kara Jones, Lee Jones and Haley Jones; great grandchildren, Brittani Gentry, Ashley Gentry, Drew Morgan, Dylan Morgan, Olivia, Caleah, and Carter Burns, and sister, Betty Smith of Mt. Vernon, IL.

Memorials may be made to Southern Illinois Hospice.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 26, 2010 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Laughlin-Richeson Funeral Home, Troy, Illinois.

Funeral services will be Thursday, August 26, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Dr. Steven Phillips officiating.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, August 26, 2010 at 3 p.m. at Oakwood Cemetery, Mt. Vernon, IL. with Rev. Wendell Garrison officiating.
