MSgt James Edward (Tex) Daniel USAF Retired, 67, of Troy, IL, born August 16, 1949 in Dallas, TX, passed away Sunday, July 9, 2017 at Anderson Hospital, Maryville, IL.
Tex was a long time active member of Bethel Baptist Church, Troy, IL. He served his Country for 24 years in the United States Air Force retiring as a MSgt after his retirement he owned and operated the J.I.L. Construction Company then proceeded to work as a civilian Contractor in Kuwait. Tex was recently elected as the Alderman for the Third Ward Troy, IL. He was an active member with the Troy Lion's Club, the VFW, the Society of Logistics Engineers, the Non-Commission Officer Association, Southern Illinois Antique Tractor Club, Barber Shop Harmony Society, and actively supported the Troy Community Band. Most of all, Tex was a family man, coaching many sports activities and wouldn't miss a single musical concert his daughters were involved in. His wife, daughters and grandchildren brought tremendous joy to his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James F. and Dorothy E. (Cross) Daniel.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia L. (Keenan) Daniel of Troy, IL; daughters, Suzanne C. (Jerry) Jarrell of Troy, IL, Stephanie L. (Lanny) Stottmeister of Fishers, IN, Sherrie A. (Hecham Al Homsi) Daniel of Troy, IL; grandchildren, Jade Madyson Jarrell, Austin James Jarrell, Tristan Anthony Stottmeister, Peyton Alexis Stottmeister and Aal Hecham Al Homsi; brothers, William (Dixie), Michael and Joseph Daniel all of Louisville, KY; dear brother, uncle, cousin and friend to many.
Memorials may be made to Patricia to be used to purchase a bench in his name at the gazebo in the Troy Tri-Township Park. Online expressions of sympathy may be made at www.Richesonfh.com
Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 13, and 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, July 14, 2017 at Bethel Baptist Church, Troy, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 14, 2017 at Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Lewis and Rev. Jim Wiens officiating. Interment with full military honors will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
