Obituary

Milton Louis Cummings, 94, of Troy, IL, born March 20, 1918, in De Soto, MO, died Sunday February 24, 2013, at his home.

Milton, Cared deeply about his family, he was a loving and gentle man caring for his wife Gertrude during her final illness. Mr. Cummings was a member of St. James the Greater Catholic Church, St. Jacob, IL, he worked for and retired from Missouri Pacific Railroad, he was a member of Gardenville-Cache Lodge # 455 AF & AM, Life Member of Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #4 Caseyville, IL.

Milton was preceded by his wife Gertrude A. (nee Hutter) Cummings whom he married Dec. 28, 1935, in St. Louis, MO; a son, Milton Cummings Jr.; his parents Milton Willis and Stella (nee Pelot) Cummings; 3 brothers and 1 sister.

Surviving are his daughters, Mary Beth (John) McAtee of Troy, IL., and Linda (Ron) Tribout of Mascoutah, IL.; grandchildren, John (Jina) McAtee, Daniel (Lora) McAtee, Amy (Andy) Bierman, Paul (Salina) McAtee, Kevin (Rachel) Tribout, Lucienne (Mike) Burrus and Marc (Bridget) Tribout; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to St. James the Greater Catholic Church, St. Jacob, IL.


Friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday February 28, 2013 at St. James the Greater Catholic Church in St. Jacob, IL.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 28, 2013, at the church with Fr. Pat Jakel officiating. Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto, MO.
