Mildred E. Worthen, 89, of Troy, Ill., born Jan. 2, 1926, in East St. Louis, Ill., died Saturday, Sept. 26, 2015, at Rosewood Care Center, Edwardsville, Ill.
Mildred was a long time member of the First Christian Church of Collinsville. She loved her family and enjoyed working puzzles.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Worthen; grandson, Shawn Worthen; parents, Homer O. and Sarah, nee King, Poston; son-in-law, Sidney Williams; brothers, Allen, Raymond and Kenneth Poston; and sisters, Dorothy Hinton, Hazel Rager, Helen Puckett and Pearl Dawson.
Surviving are her children, Barbara Williams of Granite City, Ill., Floyd Worthen of Shipman, Ill., Robert (Alison) Worthen of Morton, Ill., and Kenneth (Phyllis) Worthen of Troy, Ill.; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, Homer Poston of Peoria, Ill.; and many nieces, nephews, cousin and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2015, at Richeson Funeral Home with Rev. John King officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Ill.
