Mildred F. Straub,(nee:Hoffarth), 87, of Glen Carbon, Ill., born May 5, 1918 in East St. Louis, Ill., died December 1, 2005 at Anderson Hospital, Maryville, Ill.
Before moving to Glen Carbon, Mrs. Straub lived in the Troy area for over 32 years coming from East St. Louis. She was past secretary of AARP Branch Office in Edwardsville, Ill. Mrs. Straub dearly loved and was extremely proud of her granddaughter who is a Cadet in the Air Force in Colorado Springs. Mrs. Straub attended St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Troy, Ill.
Mrs. Straub was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Mildred (nee: VanDornis) Hoffarth, her husband, George Straub whom she married on June 10, 1939 and died May 18, 1994, and a daughter Mrs. Georgia Ren'e Kemp.
Mrs. Straub is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Adele Marie (Tom) Milkert of Troy, Ill., and a granddaughter, Lindsay Milkert, Air Force Cadet in Colorado Springs, CO.
VISITATION:Friends may call at the Laughlin Funeral Home from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M. on Sunday, December 4, 2005.
FUNERAL SERVICES will be at 10 A.M. on Monday, December 5, 2005 from the Laughlin Funeral Home with Rev. James Gullen officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, Fairview Height, Ill. Memorials are to be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church or American Heart Association.
