Obituary
Mike J. Tessaro, 87, of Maryville, Illinois, born June 3, 1920 in Maryville, Illinois, went to be with the Lord Thursday, August 30, 2007.
Mike was a retired laborer and construction worker. He was a member of First Assembly of God Church, Collinsville, Illinois. Mr. Tessaro belonged to the Edwardsville Moose Lodge, he was a Life Member of Labor Local 474. Mike was inducted into the "OLD ROOKIES" Granite City Sports Hall of Fame. Mike was a good neighbor and loved his "Lord".
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mildred, nee: Short, Tessaro, whom he married January 1, 1942 and she passed away on February 1, 1978; his parents, John and Rose, nee: Peila, Tessaro; a son, Michael John Tessaro (killed in Vietnam); a daughter, Melanie in infancy in 1961; a brother, Mike Tessaro (died prior to this Mike being born); and sisters, Mary Schlemer and Margie Behrend.
Surviving are his wife Lorene, nee: Fisk, Tessaro, whom he married July 20, 1985; a son, Larry Tessaro of Troy, Illinois; a stepson, Michael (Pam) Collins of Gray Town, Missouri; a daughter, Mrs. Roseann (Luther) Holst of Glen Carbon, Illinois; seven grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Southern Illinois Hospice or donor's choice.
VISITATION: Friends may call from 4 to 8 P.M. on Friday, August 31, 2007 at the Laughlin Funeral Home, Troy, Illinois
FUNERAL SERVICE: Funeral Services will be held at 1 P.M. on Saturday, September 1, 2007 at First Assembly of God Church, Collinsville, Illinois, with Reverend Jeffrey Gowen officiating. Burial will be in Forever Valley View Cemetery, Edwardsville, Illinois.
