Michael "Mike" Rose, 55, Of Highland, Ill., born December 29, 1959, in Troy, Ill., died Thursday, February 19, 2015 at his home in Highland, Ill.

Mike worked for United States Steel for over 37 years as a melter and was a member of United Steel Workers Union # 1899. He was a member of Highland Masonic Lodge # 583 AF & AM, Bodies of the Scottish Rite Valley of Southern Illinois, Ainad Shriners, Ainad Shriners Drum and Bugle Corp, He was a graduate of Triad Schools Class of "78", and the Highland Sportsman's Club.


He was preceded in death by his father; Harold Dale Rose Sr.; and his brother Thomas A. Rose Sr., grandparents, Odis F. and Beulah (nee Carr) Rose and Alice (nee Richardson) Hackney.

Surviving are his wife, Debbie McKinney of Highland, Ill.; Son, Regan Rose of Highland, Ill.; daughter Megan Rose of Pierron, Ill.; mother, Rosemary (nee Mount) Rose of Alhambra, Ill.; brother, H. "Dale" (Diane) Rose Jr. of Highland, Ill.; step sons, Michael (Kristy) McKinney, Jason (Elizabeth) McKinney and Cody Wiegmann; grandchild, Brayden Bishop and step-grandchild, Koda McKinney, Nieces and nephews, Bridget (Bill) Viehweg, Shawn (Darla) Rose and Tommy Rose; great-nieces and nephews, Alexie and Evan Rose and Nathan Viehweg; cousins and many dear friends.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at the funeral home with Mr Kurt Grosse officiating followed by the Masonic Lodge #583 AF & AM Funeral Ritual service.
