Melissa Lynn Brown, nee Moss, 37, of Highland, Ill., born July 15, 1967, in Belleville,Ill., died Saturday, Nov. 6, 2004, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, Mo.
Mrs. Brown was a cashier at Dairy Queen and was a self-employed Pampered Chef distributor. She was an active member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, Highland, Ill. She also was a substitute teacher at both Highland Community School and St. Paul's School. Melissa had been a director for the Latch Key program at St. Paul School, as well as the auction chairperson for the St. Paul's Kirchenfest. She had volunteered many hours to St. Paul's church and school.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Carol, nee: Buehne, Moss.
Surviving are her husband Terry. L. Brown, whom she married July 29, 1989, at St.Paul's Catholic Church, Highland, Ill.; a son, Austin Brown of Highland, Ill.; a daughter, Carley Brown, of Highland, Ill; her father, Ronald Moss and Step-Mother Mary Jo Moss of Highland,Ill.; two brothers, Corey (Terri) Moss of Highland, Ill., and Chad (special friend Danielle Delaney) Moss of Troy, Ill: and two sisters, Analisa Moss of Highland, Ill., and Alexa Moss of Highland, Ill.
Memorials may be made to the Friends of Friends Cancer Fund or the Austin and Carley Educational Fund.
Visitation: Friends may call after 3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9,2004 and from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2004, at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Highland, Ill.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00, Wednesday, November 10, 2004 at St Paul's Catholic Church, 1412 Ninth Street, Highland, Illinois.
Interment: St. Joseph Cemetery, Highland, Illinois
