Melba R. Hoenig, 71, of St. Jacob, IL, born September 30, 1950 in Edwardsville, IL and passed away on April 2, 2022 at Saint Elizabeth's Hospital, O'Fallon, IL.

Melba attended St. Jacob UCC, St. Jacob, IL.  She retired from the Edwardsville School District.  Melba loved her family and was always happy when spending time with them.  She loved playing bingo and was always ready to go to a quilt bingo.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold E. Hoenig; her daughter, Ginger Dewitt; parents, Melvin E. and Lillian E. (nee Cook) Hoenig; and her brother, Bud Hoenig.

Surviving are her daughter, Cherie Hoenig of St. Jacob, IL; siblings, Judy (Chuck) Mocaby of Gillespie, IL, Dan Hoenig of Gillespie, IL and Gail (Richard) Spangler of Benld, IL; sister-in-law, Nancy Hoenig of Cambridge, OH; special bonus grandchildren, Haley, Addison, Chase, Daxton, Kael and Xylina; and many friends.

Visitation for Melba will be 10 to 11 am on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at Aebischer-Richeson Funeral Home, St. Jacob, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Thursday at Aebischer-Richeson Funeral Home, St. Jacob, IL, with Rev. Philip Barbier officiating.  Interment will be in Augusta Cemetery, St. Jacob, IL.
