Melba K. Aebischer, 96, of St. Jacob, IL, born September 30, 1921 in St. Jacob, IL, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Faith Country Side in Highland, IL.
Melba was a life time member of St. Jacob United Church of Christ, St. Jacob, IL. She retired as an Administrative Assistant from McCarthy Brothers Construction in St. Louis, Mo. After her retirement she was a caregiver for her parents on the family farm.
Melba was preceded in death by her husband, Phil Aebischer, whom she married Feb. 11, 1978 and who passed Jan. 12, 1989; parents, Hugo and Clara (nee Stoklas) Frutiger; nephews, Vincent Perry Ellis and Chris Aebischer.
Surviving are her sister, Lois M. Hubbs of Pueblo, CO; sister-in-law, Jeanette Fox of Highland, IL; nieces and nephews, Mary Ellen Morgan of Beulah, CO, Steve (Terry) Aebischer of Highland, IL, Marsha (Bill) Maxedon of Shelbyville, IL, Lois Winkler of Trenton, IL; cousin, Mary Worley of St. Louis, MO; many great-nieces, great-nephews and a host of friends.
