May Catherine Escher, 73, of Troy, IL, born Dec. 26, 1939, in Granite City, IL, died July 24, 2013 at her home in Troy, IL.
Mrs. Escher was a member of Apostolic Tabernacle Pentecostal Church in Edwardsville, IL, she loved reading her bible, working crossword puzzles, and her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She truly loved babies and her church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Escher; two sons, Lester and Michael Thompson; one brother and four sisters; and her parents, Henry G. and Ruby O. (nee Rhoades) Freeman.
Surviving are her children, Daniel Thompson of Granite City, IL, Tim Thompson of Granite City, Il, Barry (Mindy) Thompson of Mesa, AZ, Jeff Thompson of Purius, MS, Raymond (Chastity) Escher of Collinsville, IL, Sarah (Brian) Escher of Belleville, IL Ruby Powell of Troy, IL and Diane (Brian) Crocker of Greenwood Springs, MS.; grandchildren, Brandi Parker, Ashley Castelli, Jonathan Crocker, Amy Heidenfelder, Dave Gregory, Alexa, Brian and Mark Diser, Toupi and Noah Thompson; great-grandchildren, Ethan Thompson, Orion Gregory, Auden and Braden Stowell, Riley Parker and Leo Castelli.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 pm Fri., July 26, 2013, and 9 to 10 am Sat., July 27, 2013, at Richeson Funeral Home, Troy, IL.
Funeral service will be held at 10 am Sat., July 27, 2013, at Richeson Funeral Home, with Rev. Harold Williams officiating. Burial will be at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.
