Mary L. Jacob, 95 of Troy, IL born September 29, 1930, in East St. Louis, IL passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, August 18, 2026.

Mary was a faithful long-time member of Bethel Baptist Church in Troy, serving on many committees and programs. She was founder and co-owner of Jewel Box Studio in Troy, IL. Mary was a long-time treasurer for the Christian Women’s Club. She and Paul enjoyed being winter Texans spending over 20 years in Harlington, TX and working for the orphan missions in Mexico, providing shoes and sewing machines and other needed items. She loved her family, especially the times she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul C. Jacob whom she married July 4, 1948, and he passed away on July 26, 2013; her son Richard Jacob, parents Edward and Ethel (nee Pryor) Bovinett.

Surviving are her daughters, Paulette (Dan) Darlington of Collinsville, IL and Cindy (Ron) Sifford of Springfield, MO; daughter-in-law, Penny Jacob of Highland, IL; grandchildren, Jennifer Cadagin, Lauren Busiere, Bre (Allen) Kruger, Dustin (Denise) Sifford, David (Meghan) Ziegler, Anne (Casey) Lohman, John (Elle) Ziegler; great-grandchildren, Taylor and Jake Cadagin, Blue snd Sebastian Kruger, Kate, Michael and Jacob Ziegler, Blake Zarinelli, Winston and Dallas Ziegler; her sister-in-law, Eve (Jim) Redman of Belleville, IL and niece Susan Marsh of Fairview Heights, IL.

Visitation for Mary will be held 5 to 7 pm on Friday, August 21, and 9 to 10 am on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Bethel Baptist Church, Troy, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Saturday, August 22, at Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Lewis officiating. Interment will be in Highland City Cemetery, highland, IL.
