Obituary
Marvin Fred Spengel, age 80, formerly of Troy, IL., died August 17, 2010 in Nashville, TN.
Mr. Spengel was born November 17, 1929 in Edwardsville, IL. He was Operations Manager for Forodo Corp. and was a member of Friedens United Church of Christ, Troy, IL. Mr. Spengel was an Army veteran having served his country in the Korean Conflict.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Alice (nee Frey) Spengel; sons, Mark E. and Martin L. Spengel, and sisters, Doris Schiebel and Nadine Bailey.
Surviving are his wife, Shirley, nee Grieve, Spengel; daughter, Mitzi Malter of Collinsville, IL.; sons, Michel of Oroville, CA. and Mark Spengel of Cross Plains, TN.; grandchildren, Ryan and Rachel Malter, Ashley, Brandon, and Chelsea Spengel; great grandchildren, Chantz and Landon Malter, and Sophia, Denny and Kaleb Spengel.
Memorials may be made to Alive Hospice of Nashville TN. and will be received at the funeral home.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 28, 2010 from 12 noon to 1 p.m. at Laughlin-Richeson Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be Saturday, August 28, 2010 at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Charles West officiating. Burial will be in Freidens Cemetery, Troy, IL.
