Obituary
Martha Aleene Gardner, 80, of Troy, Ill., born May 16, 1928, in Sherwood, Tenn., died Thursday, Oct. 23, 2008, at St. Louis University Medical Center in St. Louis, Mo.
Mrs. Gardner was a sales associate for Cracker Barrel Old Country Store. She was a member of Troy United Methodist Church in Troy, Ill. and VFW Post 976 Ladies Auxiliary.
Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd "Dale" Gardner, whom she married Jan. 15, 1950; her parents, Leb Carmine and Mamie Aleene, nee Poe, Reagor; and a sister, Dorothy Smith.
Surviving are her daughters, Sharron Nickels of Divernon, Ill., Karen (Ed) Jordan of Leavenworth, Kan., Krista (Phillip) Keuss of Wildwood, Mo., and Karla (Allan) Courtney of Troy, Ill.; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association and may be placed through the funeral home.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26, 2008, at Laughlin-Richeson Funeral Home in Troy, Ill.
Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 27, 2008, at Laughlin-Richeson Funeral Home in Troy, Ill., with the Rev. Dennis Price officiating. Interment in Friedens Cemetery in Troy, Ill.
