Mark A. "Gus" Stephens, 74, of Troy, IL formerly of Effingham, IL born March 4, 1948 in Effingham, IL and passed peacefully on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 surrounded by family at his home in Troy, IL.

Mark was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1580 Highland, IL and Past Grand Knight and purser of the 4 ^th degree Knights of Columbus in Ballwin, MO.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles "Bud" and Mary (nee Hewing) Stephens; a nephew, A.J Wassmer; and a great nephew Lincoln Mercer.

Surviving are his wife of 55 years Margaret "Magie" (nee Morrison) Stephens whom he married November 23, 1967; his sons, Zed Eric Stephens, Alex (Andrea) Stephens and Andrew (Rachel) Stephens; grandchildren, Zed, Barrett, Arlowe, Nathalie and Samantha Stephens; brothers, David (Roxanne Stephens and Doug (Christy) Stephens; and his sister Linda (Roger) Wedge.
