Marjorie Ann Poole, 81, of Granite City, Ill., born Nov. 21, 1927, in Tamms, Ill., died Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2009, at Gateway Regional Hospital.
Mrs. Poole was a homemaker. She lived many years in the Troy area before moving to Granite City. Marjorie dearly loved her family, her pets and working in her garden.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Poole whom she married in 1942, and who died in 1971; her parents, Earl and Nora, nee James, Hazelwood; four brothers; and two sisters.
Surviving are her daughters, Karen (Randy) Dougherty of Edwardsville, Ill., and Glenda Dew of Collinsville, Ill.; her son, James Poole of Granite City, Ill.; grandchildren, Nikki, Zoe and Carla Norbury, and Donald Scholebo; and great-grandchildren, Joshua and Caelyn Norbury.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009, at Laughlin-Richeson Funeral Home, Troy, Ill.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009, at the funeral home, with Rev. Dennis Price officiating. Burial will be at St. Johns Cemetery, Granite City, Ill.
