Mrs. Marion Bernice Hale, 76 years, of Troy, Illinois, born April 9, 1929 in Atwood, Illinois, died June 25, 2005, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri.
Marion Bernice Hale, nee Quick, dearly beloved wife of Irvin Wayne Hale, and loving mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, niece, and aunt. Daughter and second child of Lilburn and Gladys Quick, born into this life at the family's farm, in Atwood, Illinois, on April 9, 1929. She took pleasure in nature, gardening, family gatherings and small blessings. Resting at home for these past several years, her life has been especially enriched through a wonderful relationship with her two granddaughters. With great spirit, she gave to her family unselfishly, until her final rest.
A 1973 graduate at Belleville Area College School of Nursing, Mrs. Hale enjoyed fulfilling work as a nurse at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Belleville, Illinois, until retiring in 1991. A former resident of Belleville and Trenton, Illinois, Mrs. Hale resided with her husband Wayne in Troy, Illinois these past ten years. She is preceded in death by her parents, and brother Eugene Quick of Atwood, Illinois.
Mrs. Hale is survived by her husband, and also her daughter, Mrs. Leslie Ann (Gary) Mackin of Norcross,Georgia, son, Douglas Wayne (Constance) Hale of St. Jacob, Illinois, granddaughters Marjorie and Michelle Hale, and brothers, Larry (Peggy) Quick of Crystal Lake, Illinois, and Jack (Patricia) Quick of Roanoke, Virginia. In the presence of her loving family, she passed into her peaceful repose on the afternoon of June 25, 2005, at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
VISITATION: Friends may call at the Laughlin Funeral Home after 4 P.M. on Tuesday, June 28, 2005 and at the Hilligross-Shrader Funeral Home after 4 P.M. on Wednesday, June 29, 2005. Funeral Services will be Thursday, June 30, 2005 at 10:30 A.M. at the First Baptist Church in Atwood, Illinois. Memorials are to the Fist Baptist Church in Atwood, Illinois. Burial will be in Mackville Cemetery, Atwood, Illinois.
