Marilyn J. Harris, 83, of Troy, IL, born Sunday, December 8, 1940 in Decatur, IL and passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at Belleville Memorials Hospital, Belleville, IL.

Marilyn was a faithful member of the Troy Methodist Church, Troy, IL where she was involved in the Kids Choir, Hand Bell Choir and Church Choir.  She enjoyed singing and traveling with the SIUE Concert Chorale.  She loved God and her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James B. Harris whom she married March 28, 1959 at Christ Methodist Church in Decatur, IL and he passed away on August 13, 2022; her son, Michael D. Harris; grandson, Brian Joseph Harris; and her parents, Robert G. and Lucille (nee Livesey) Schmitt.

Surviving are her children, James (Mary) Harris of Lebanon, IL,  Timothy (Leasha) Harris of Troy, IL and Kraig (Trixy) Harris of Edwardsville, IL; her daughter-in-law, Christina Harris of Foristell, MO; granddaughter, Kimberly D. Harris; and her sister, Gloria (Don) Parrott of Ostrander, OH.

Visitation for Marilyn will be held 10 to 11 am on Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at Troy Methodist Church, Troy, IL.

Funeral services will be held 11 am on Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at Troy Methodist Church, Troy, IL with the Rev. Andy Adams and Rev. Dennis Price officiating, interment is in Friedens Cemetery, Troy, IL.
