Mrs. Marie Mc Connell, 93, of Washington, Missouri, formerly of Lower Marine Road, Troy, Illinois, born October 18, 1912 in Charleston Missouri, died June 2, 2006 at Grandview Health Care Center, Grand Washington, Missouri.
Mrs. McConnell lived in the Troy area since 1970 after moving from Collinsville, Illinois. She was a bookkeeper for 48 years. After retirement, Mrs. McConnell became very active in the Library and became the Librarian for the Tri-Township Library located on East Market Street. In her later years, Mrs. McConnell became a volunteer for the library.
Mrs. McConnell is preceded in death by her parents, Charles Frederick and India (nee:Stacy) Weston, her husband, Edward McConnell who passed away in 1965, her sisters, Lola Taylor and Irene Colvin, and a nephew, Fred Taylor.
Mrs. McConnell is survived by two nephews, Ted (Doris) Colvin of East Peoria, Illinois, Terry (Vera) Taylor of Washington, Missouri, a niece Mrs. Martha (Milt) Curry of East Peoria, Illinois, and a host of great nieces and nephews including a host of great-great nephews and nieces.
VISITATION: Family will receive friends from 12 noon on Monday, June 5, 2006 until time of service at 1:00 P.M. Services will begin at 1:00 P.M. at the Laughlin Funeral Home "Chapel". Burial will be at Friedens Cemetery, Troy, Illinois with the Rev. David Taylor officiating. Memorials may be made to Tri-Township Library.
