Margola Lillian Spear, 81, of St. Jacob, Ill., born Jan. 9, 1935, in Fort Fairfield, Maine, passed away Jan. 23, 2016, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Ill.
Margola was a faithful member of St. Jerome Catholic Church, Troy, Ill. She was a life time member of Troy VFW Post 976 Ladies Auxiliary, Box of Wine Club, Officers Wives Club and Military Families Support Group. She loved and was loved by her family. Margola was known for her generous heart and giving to others. She was very proud of her Santa collection and was an avid Cardinals Baseball fan.
She was preceded in death by her son, John W. Spear II; daughter, Mary Colaneri; mother, Phyllis, nee Manter, Flannery; brother, Gary Flannery; sisters, Marlene Flannery and Donna Clifford; and sister-in-law, Sally Flannery.
Surviving are husband, John W. Spear Sr. of St. Jacob, Ill., whom she married on Jan. 28, 1959 in Fort Fairfield, Maine; daughters, Debra Spear of Orlando, Fla., and Tracy (Michael) Skinner of St. Jacob, Ill.; daughter-in-law, Sally Spear; grandchildren, Roxanne (Joe) Gordon, Brittnie (Nate) Low, Kyle Clark, John W. Spear III, Alex Spear, Caitlyn (Robert) Eilers and Travis Skinner; great-grandchildren, Jocelyn, Jacques, Tatum, Adalyn, Vivian, Kieran and Ase; brothers, John Flannery and Gerald (Lorraine) Flannery; and sister, Cheryl Flannery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2016, at Richeson Funeral Home, Troy, Ill., and from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2016, at St. Jerome Catholic Church, Troy, Ill.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2016, at St. Jerome Catholic Church with Father Allen Hunter officiating. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Black Jack, Ill.
