Margaret "Greta" (nee Milota)Gaertner, age 76, of Troy, passed away Friday, September 12, 2003.
Margaret was born August 6, 2003 in Czechoslovakia. She met Harold Gaertner in Heidelberg, Germany, where Harold was serving during World War II. They married March 3, 1948. They soon moved to Troy, where she has resided ever since.
Greta was a member of Friedens United Church of Christ, Order of the Eastern Star, and VFW Auxiliary Post 976 in Troy.
Greta is survived by her husband, Harold of Troy; one daughter; two granddaughters, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 pm, Sunday, September 14, 2003 at Laughlin Funeral Home and after 10:00 am, Monday at Friedens United Church of Christ in Troy.
Funeral Services: Monday, September 15, 2003 at 11:00 am at Friedens United Church of Christ.
Interment: Friedens Cemetery, Troy, Illinois
Memorials may be made to Gateway Hospice or Friedens UCC and will be accepted at the funeral home.
