Margaret L. "Peggy" Decker, 91, of Normal, IL, formerly of Troy, IL, born Sunday, September 10, 1933, in East St. Louis, IL and passed away peacefully on Monday, December 2, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family.
Peggy was a member of Saint Patrick Catholic Church in Bloomington, IL. She graduated from St. Theresa Academy class of 1951. Peggy loved to sew, especially for her four daughters. When they were young, she sewed Christmas, Easter outfits and school uniforms. She also sewed uniforms for the waitresses at Savoia's restaurant. In the past, she has made quilts and auctioned them for fundraisers making a great deal of money for the organizations. Peggy also loved to crochet blankets, shawls and more which she would give away to relatives and others she loves. Most of all she loved her family and the times they spent together.
She was preceded in death by her Husband, Leonard M. Decker whom she married June 26, 1954, and he passed away March 22, 2000; her daughter, Dianne Decker; son-in-law, Jon Smith; parents, Ralph and Molly (nee Boyle) Rittenhouse; brother, Joseph Rittenhouse; and her brother-in-law, Tom Padgett.
Surviving are her children, Karen (Gary) Lowman of Fountain, CO, Ralph (Linda) Decker of St. Louis, MO, Anna Smith of Pittsburgh, PA and Jane (Jeff) Collins of Normal, IL; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren with one on the way; her sister, Marie Padgett of Fairview Heights, IL; and her brother, Gene (JoAnn) Rittenhouse of Freeburg, IL; 27 nieces, nephews and many dear friends.

Visitation for Peggy will be 9 am to 10:30 am on Friday, December 6, 2024, at St. Jerome Catholic Church in Troy, IL.
Funeral mass will be said at 10:30 am on Friday, December 6, at St. Jerome Catholic Church, Troy, IL with Fr. Jeff Holtman officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Edwardsville, IL.
