Luis Eduardo Cruz, Staff Sergeant E5 Retired, 36, of Troy, IL, born May 27, 1979 in Hoboken, New Jersey, passed suddenly April 1, 2016 in Belleville, IL.

Luis retired from the United States Air Force after 16 years of service to his Country. He loved riding his motorcycle and playing softball. Luis was a club promoter in the St. Louis area O-Bar, Pepper Lounge, Lucas Park Bar and Grill and Social House to name a few. But most of all he loved his children they were #1 in their Dad's eyes.

He is survived by the mother of his children, Katie (nee Mackey) Cruz; children, Eva and Eliana Cruz, Mike, Isabel and Caitlyn Averill; his girlfriend, Sophia Spoto; parents, Luis and Ada (nee Rodriguez) Cruz; brothers, David, Erick and Ricardo Cruz, sister, Rocio (David) Olivera; nieces, nephews cousins and friends.

Visitation will be from 12 noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Richeson Funeral Home, Troy, IL.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Rev. Charles West officiating. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery with full military honors. Luis family will continue fellowship with a gathering at Zapata's Mexican Restaurant,8 Eastport Plaza Dr, Collinsville, IL 62234, following memorial services.
