Obituary

Louise Simpson, 88, of Troy, Ill., born Sept. 26, 1925, in Equality, Ill., passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at The Fountains of Troy in Troy, Ill.

Mrs. Simpson was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Edwardsville, Ill., and the Pin Oak Senior Citizens. She retired from Seibold's Bakery in Edwardsville, Ill. Louise loved quilting, cooking and most all crafts and craft fairs.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Kevin Simpson; parents, Henry G. and Florence J., nee Wargel, Rexing; and a son-in-law, Michael Berner; brothers, Carl, Cedric and Cyril Rexing; and sister, Madeline Rexing.

Surviving are her husband, Melvin Simpson of Troy, Ill., whom she married on July 15, 1946, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Equality, Ill.; son, Louis (Karen) Simpson of Edwardsville, Ill.; daughter, Ruth Berner of Bethalto, Ill.; grand-children, Lori Simpson, Kirk (Sara) Simpson, Lindsey (Dave) Brown, Melissa (Craig) Edwards, Jamie (Brad) Jobe and Michelle (Kyle) Stumpf; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Louis Rexing of Herod, Ill., and Norman (Rosemary) Rexing of Bethalto, Ill.; and sister, Regina Collins of Eldorado, Ill.

Memorials may be made to Friedens Cemetery in Troy, Ill.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 21, 2014, at Richeson Funeral Home, Troy, Ill., and 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, March 22, 2014, at St. Jerome Catholic Church, Troy, Ill.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Satur-day, March 22, 2014, at St. Jerome Catholic Church with Father Pat Jakel officiating. Burial will be at Friedens Cemetery, Troy, Ill.
