Lloyd Eugene Wood, age 60, of Troy, Illinois died peacefully at his home on Monday, September 13, 2010. He was born September 21, 1949 in Granite City, IL.

Lloyd retired in June 2010, after working 30 years for the City of Troy in the water department. He had previously served on the Troy Fire Dept. for 15 years, and had owned and operated Wood Auto Body. Lloyd graduated from Triad High School in 1967 and was a huge Triad Knight fan. He enjoyed working on stock cars and attending stock car races. He also found hunting, fishing, and camping to be most enjoyable pastimes.

Mr. Wood was preceded in death by his parents, Herman Eugene and Edith June (nee Hoy) Wood.

He is survived by his loving wife, Beverly (nee Koishor) Wood; sons, Aaron Wood of Collinsville, IL. and Trevor Wood of Troy, IL.; brothers, Rick (Nancy) Wood of Brighton, IL., Howard (Kim) Wood of St. Louis, MO. and Curt Wood of Arkansas, and sister, Donna (John) Kutz of Glen Carbon, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or to the Lloyd Wood Family.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 16, 2010 from 5 to 8 PM and Friday from 10 to 11 AM at the Laughlin-Richeson Funeral Home, Troy, IL.

A funeral service will be Friday, September 17, 2010 at 11 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Friedens Cemetery, Troy, IL.
