Linus Don Bonham, 78, of Troy, Ill., born June 9, 1931, in Cave City, Ark., died on Thursday, March 18, 2010, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Ill.
Mr. Bonham loved his family and enjoyed his time out doors especially when he was able to work his garden. He was a retired Air Force Master Sgt. and had retired from the State of Illinois Job Services Personnel Dept.
Linus was preceded in death by his parents, Linus C. and Clara M. (James) Bonham; son-in-law, Terry May; and sister, Hallene Montgomery.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Jean, nee Broadwater, Bonham, whom he married Jan. 5, 1951, in Batesville, Ark.; son, Larry (Melanie) Bonham of St. Charles, Mo.; daughters, Vickie Huffman of Belleville, Ill., and Debbie May of Shiloh, Ill.; grandchildren, Jonathan and Jason Malacarne, Julia and Daniel Bonham; brother, Roland Bonham of Memphis, Tenn.; and sister, Carolyn Sue Strother of Anna, Texas.
Memorials may be made American Heart Association or to charity of choice appreciated.
Friends may call from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on Monday, March 22, 2010, at Laughlin-Richeson Funeral Home in Troy, Ill.
Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 22, 2010, at the funeral home with the Rev. Wendell Garrison officiating. Interment with full military honors will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Mo.
