Leo Sedlacek, age 85, of Maryville, Illinois, passed away Thursday, February 12, 2004 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Highland, Illinois.
Mr. Sedlacek was born May 10, 1918 in Collinsville Township to the late Martin and Catherine (nee Dickmann) Sedlacek. On November 29, 1941, he married Corinne Riebold and she survives.
Mr. Sedlacek grew up in the Maryville area, where he farmed all his life. He served on Madison County Building and Zoning Board for several years, was a former director of Troy Grain Company and enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his grandhcildren.
He is also survived by two sons, Lee M. Sedlacek (friend Ronna McGauley) of St. Jacob and Lawrence Sedlacek of Edwardsville; a daughter, Ruthie (Bill) Morris of Glen Carbon; six grandchildren, John (Linda) Sedlacek of St. Jacob, Angela (Rick) Oleson of Edwardsville, Teresa Sedlacek (friend Kate Shroeder) of Webster Groves, MO, and Natalie, Matthew, and Spencer Morris, all of Glen Carbon; four great grandchildren, Jacob, Lane, Ian, and Brody; and a sister-in-law Evelyn Riebold of O'Fallon, Illinois.
Friends may call after 4:00 pm Tuesday, February 17, 2004 at Laughlin Funeral Home and after 9:00 am, Wednesday, February 18, 2004 at Mother of Perpetual Help Church in Maryville, Illinois.
Mass of Christian Burial: 10:00 am, Wednesday, February 18, 2004 at Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Maryville.
Memorials may be made in the form of Masses or to St. John Neumann School.
