Lawrence "Larry" Norbury, 81, of Trenton, IL, born Monday, August 2, 1943, in East St. Louis, IL and passed away on Monday, September 16, 2024, at Anderson Hospital, Maryville, IL.
Larry was a faithful member of St. Jerome Catholic Church, Troy, IL. He served his Country in the United States Army During the Vietnam Conflict. Larry was a Graduate of Collinsville Class of 1961. He started working at Granite City Steel in March of 1963 and Retired as First Furnace Manager in August 2003 with 40 years of service. Larry worked several post-retirement jobs, working at St. Jerome Catholic Church for several years, then at Richeson Funeral home for over 15 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 9266 and Knights of Columbus 4th Degree, Holy Trinity Assembly 3442, Troy, IL. Larry enjoyed bowling, throwing horseshoes, and rooting for the Kansas City chiefs and St. Louis Cardinal Baseball. Most of all he enjoyed watching and supporting his grandkids in their sporting events.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles W. and Agnes A. (nee Petry) Norbury; and his brother and sister-in-law, Gerald "Gary" (Edith "Edie") Norbury.
He is survived by his wife, Susan (nee Ringley) Norbury; his children, Kelley (Barry) Deatherage of Highland, IL, Paul Norbury of St. Charles, MO and Mark (Tracy) Norbury of Trenton, IL; his grandchildren, Abigail Norbury, Aiden Norbury, Chase Schultz, Cameron Deatherage, Jackson Pulley and Madison Norbury; great-grandchild, Atlas Schultz; his sister, Mary Ann (Henry) Becherer of Troy, IL; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Visitation for Larry will be 5 to 7 pm on Friday, September 20, 2024 at St. Jerome Catholic Church, Troy, IL. In celebration of Larry's life your favorite sports clothing or casual dress is requested at visitation.
Funeral mass will be held at 7 pm on Friday, September 20, at St. Jerome Catholic Church, Troy, IL with Fr. Kevin Laughery officiating. Knights of Columbus Chalice Service will be held at 7:30 pm. Interment will be in Jefferson Barrack National Cemetery.
