Obituary
Laverta M. Phelps, age 98, of Troy, Illinois died on September 23, 2010. She was the beloved wife of the late Forest E. Phelps.
Mrs. Phelps was born August 29, 1912 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late William Patrick and Anna (nee Ruerr) O'Brien. She was a member of St, Jerome Catholic Church Troy, Illinois.
Dear Mother of David and Cathy Phelps of St. Louis, Missouri, Robert (Donna) Phelps of St. Louis, Missouri and Susan (Paul) Jarvis of Troy, Illinois. Grandmother of Jay (Patti) Phelps, Tanya Phelps, Matt (Kim) Phelps, Robert Phelps Jr., Amanda (Brandon) Crews, Adam Jarvis and Abbie Jarvis. Great grandchildren Jeremy, Hanna, Hannah, Taylor, Haley and Chase Phelps, Kayden and Bryce Crews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by siblings Elmer O'Brien, Irene Vaughn and Virginia Connelley.
Visitation for Laverta will be on Sunday September 26, 5 to 8 pm and Monday September 27, 10:30 to 11:30 am. at Laughlin~Richeson Funeral Home, Troy, Illinois.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 am Monday at the funeral home, with Fr. Pat Jakel officiating.
Interment will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
