Obituary

Retired U. S. Air Force CMSGT Larry J. Koerber, 67, of rural Troy, IL, born March 27, 1951 in Vichy, MO, departed this life on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Chief Master Sergeant Koerber was retired from the U.S. Air Force, with 30 years of service. He was ever thankful for the opportunity to serve his great country, and to be a part of something much larger than himself. After graduating from Belle High School in Missouri, he completed basic training at Amarillo AFB, TX. Assignments took him to Mississippi, Vietnam, Wisconsin, Georgia, Belgium, Nebraska, Alaska, Virginia, England, California and Scott AFB, IL.  Once retired, Larry completed degree programs with Park University and Webster University. He obtained his Private Pilot Certificate and enjoyed flying light airplanes.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Maudie Koerber; a brother Lawrence Koerber; sisters, Bonnie Dillon and Sandra Elliott; and granddaughter Carly Batz.

Surviving are his wife, Rosemary (nee Moran) Koerber; stepdaughter, Jean (Harold) Gates of Sun Praire, WI; stepsons, Greg (Stacey) Batz of Sun Praire and John (Sandy) Batz of Lakeville, MN; six step grandchildren, Faye, Rita, Sara, Katherine, Anna and Sean; four great-grandchildren; Gisele, Devin, Andre and Alex; two sisters, Viola (Charles) Anderson and Sharon (Bill) Sullivan; brother, Leslie (Marlene) Koerber; brother-in-law, Rick Elliot; sister-in-law, Ann Koerber all of MO; brother-in-law, Marty (Ida) Moran of Ft. Atkinson, WI; Sister-in-law, JoAnn Moran of Wausau, WI; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; his horse Cody and dog, Ginger.

Memorial service will be held 10 am, Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Richeson Funeral Home, Troy, IL with Robert Jurke and Terry Young officiating.
Interment with full military honors will be held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
