Kathyryn Marie Tate, 61, 0f Troy, IL, born June 19, 1957 in Staunton, IL, passed away on January 28, 2019 at her home in Troy, IL.

Kathryn graduated from Staunton High School in 1975. From there she attended Eastern Illinois University and graduated with a BS degree in Earth Science in 1979. She married John D. Tate on March 1st, 1980. On June 14th, 1991, she gave birth to our daughter Cynthia M. Tate. Kathryn then attended Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville and obtained her teacher certification in 1994. In 1994 she obtained employment as a special education teacher's aide, with the Edwardsville School District where she would work closely with special needs children

For the next twenty-two years she would work with special needs children and it was the love of her life, until she retired from the Edwardsville School District in May of 2017. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by friends and family. Her faith in God never wavered throughout her illness and it's a testament to the strength she derived from a close relationship to Jesus Christ.

Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents, George S. and Eileen M. (nee Fullerton) Hall.

Surviving are her husband, John Tate; daughter, Cynthia Marie Tate of Belleville, IL; brothers, David (Cindy) Hall of WI and Richard (Debbie) Hall of MO.
