Katharine "Kay' Hoenig-Beardsley, nee Becker, 76, of St. Jacob, Ill., born April 2, 1941, in Highland, Ill., passed away Sunday, April 9, 2017, at Highland Health Care, Highland, Ill.

Kay was a member of St. Jacob United Church of Christ, where she was the Organist and Secretary for many years.  She was a graduate of the class of 1958 St. Jacob High School.  Kay's great passion was for the St. Louis Cardinals.  She was a season ticket holder for many years and never missed spring training or the Cardinal Cruises each year.

She was preceded in death by husbands, Leroy Hoenig and James Beardsley; parents, August and Louise Becker.

Surviving are her children, Phillip (Christine) Hoenig of Imperial, Mo, and Paul (Tandi) Hoenig of Highland, Ill.; grandchildren, Amanda  (Bryan) Hoenig Judd, Alexis Beardsley and  Rebecca Cunningham; great-grandchild Ayden Judd.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at Aebischer-Richeson Funeral Home, St. Jacob, Ill., and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at St. Jacob United Church of Christ in St. Jacob, Ill.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at St. Jacob United Church of Christ with Rev. Gary Kniepkamp officiating.  Burial will be at Keystone Cemetery, St. Jacob, Ill.
