Julia G. Loyet, 94, of Troy, Ill., born May 29, 1922, in Alhambra, Ill., died Friday, Aug. 12, 2016, at St. Paul's Nursing Center, Belleville, Ill.
Julia was a registered nurse, graduate of St. Mary's Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1946 and worked at St. Joseph's Hospital in Highland for more than 20 years. She was a devoted member of St. Jerome's Catholic Church and St. Ann's Sodality. She and her husband, Kenny volunteered many hours to the Knights of Columbus fish fries in Maryville. They were also active in many card clubs. Julia was a devoted farm wife and mother, caring for her disabled daughter, Lynn for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth L. "Kenny" Loyet, whom she married on June 26, 1947, and who died Oct. 27, 2012; daughter, Lynn M. Loyet; parents, Emil L. and Ella, nee Neuenschwander, Abert; brothers, Erwin, Arthur, Clarence, Paul and Eugene Abert; and sisters, Ida Tabor, Amanda McCalla and Alma Wall.
Surviving are her children, Steve L. (Connie) Loyet, DVM of Fairview Heights, Ill., and Karen (Pat) Kuhl of O'Fallon, Ill.; and grandchildren, Nathan (Tomomi Sawada) Kuhl and Adam Kuhl.

Visitation will be from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 15, 2016, at St. Jerome Catholic Church, Troy, Ill.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 15, 2016, at St. Jerome Catholic Church, Troy, Ill., with Father Paul Habing officiating. Interment will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Black Jack, Ill.
