Obituary
Josephine Darlene Thiel, 76, of Highland, Ill., born May 8, 1938, in Davenport, Iowa died Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2014, at St. Louis University Medical Center in St. Louis, Mo.
Josephine was a licensed practical nurse, was past president of Licensed Practical Nurse Association of Illinois serving for over 10 years in the 1980's. She worked as an LPN in hospitals and clinics in Illinois, including Swedish American and Rockford Memorial Hospitals in the Rockford, Ill., area, and Carle Clinic Health Services at Illinois State University.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Tammy Jo Thiel; parents, Harry and Leora, nee Lovewell, Roberts; and a brother, Gail Lovewell.
Surviving are her husband, Harry Thiel, whom she married on Oct. 2, 1964, in Riverton, Ill.; sons, Tim Thiel of Houston, Texas, Toby (Debbie Plock) Thiel of Rockford, Ill., Terry Thiel of Dana Point, Calif., and Troy (Karen) Thiel of Madison, Wis.; grandchildren, Joy, Johnella, Regina and Anna; a niece, Beverly Lovewell Picket; and a nephew, Steve Lovewell.
Memorials may be made to the Siteman Cancer Center in St. Louis, Mo., or St. Joseph's Hospital in Highland, Ill. Online expressions of sympathy may be made at www.Richesonfh.com
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, 2014, at the Chapel of St. Joseph's Hospital in Highland, Ill.
