Joseph R. Simpson Sr., 68, of Granite City, IL, born Wednesday, October 8, 1952 in St. Louis, MO and passed away on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at Caseyville Nursing and Rehab Center, Caseyville, IL.

Joseph attended Metro Community Church, Edwardsville, IL.  He was an avid recycler.  Joe was always ready to go dancing and enjoyed many styles of dance.  He always cherished the time he spent with his family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Simpson; and his brothers, Richard "Pete" and Robert "Bob" Simpson.

Surviving are his wife, Carol Simpson; his children, Joseph R. (Cori) Simpson, Jr. of Troy, IL and Christi (Steve) Hagler of Maryville, IL; his mother, Leona (nee Smith) Simpson; grandchildren, Justin (Janae Scheft) Moore, Cody Simpson, Samantha Simpson, Michael (Kristen) Rayphole, Craig Hagler and Nicole Hagler; brother, Mark (Sue) Simpson of Granite City, IL and his sister-in-law, Christina Simpson of Piedmont, MO.

Graveside services will be held 11 am Friday, June 4, 2021 at Cyclone Cemetery, Current View, MO.
