Joseph F. "Scotty" Scott, 88, of Troy, Ill., born May 14, 1922, in Troy, Ill., died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2010, at his home.
Mr. Scott was an artist for the U.S. Government. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Troy, Ill., the VFW Post 976, Troy, Ill., and the American Legion Post 708, Troy, Ill. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the coast guard. He loved art, his favorite things to paint were religious scenes, Santa Claus, winter scenes and the ocean. Scotty was an avid Cardinals baseball fan..."Go Cards".
He was preceded in death by his wife, H. Maxine, nee Haase, Scott whom he married on July 22, 1964, and who died Dec. 12, 2007; his son, Joseph C. Scott; his stepson, Michael Robinson; his parents, Joseph D. and Theresa, nee Seligman, Scott; two brothers, Donald and Robert Scott; and his sister, Vernice Hodder.
Surviving are his daughters, Patricia (Dan Stanhope) Scott of Palm Harbor Fla., and Michelle Longshore of Troy, Ill., and their mother, Betty Lou, nee Snow, Foster of Palm City, Fla.; three stepdaughters, Linda (Elmer) Lueker of San Diego, Calif., Sandy (Larry) Benardin of Staunton, Ill., and Pam Wyatt of Florissant, Mo.; a special granddaughter, Theresa (Jim) Scott-Gass of Collinsville, Ill.; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 27, 2010, at Laughlin-Richeson Funeral Home, Troy, Ill., and from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Troy, Ill.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Troy, Ill., with Rev. Mitchel Schuessler officiating. Burial at St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery, Troy, Ill.
