Obituary
Joseph P. Dugan, 68 , of Troy Ill., born July 6, 1948 in Philadelphia, Pa., died Thursday, Sept. 29, 2016 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital St. Louis, Mo.
Joseph was a 1966 graduate of Father Judge High School Philadelphia. He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era (1966-1970) and then in 1972, he became a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters local 107 Philadelphia. He was a Conrail Railman from 1973 to 1984, and retired from the U.S. Army Department of Defense as an occupational safety and health specialist and liaison to hazardous materials transportation in 2013. He was a member of the Railroad Association and the Knights of Columbus. He was also an avid photographer and enjoyed spending time with his family, nature, traveling, historical sites and reading.
Joseph was preceded in death by his wife of 15 years Nancy M. Dugan, nee Patterson; sister, Catherine Burns; son, Daniel Dugan; parents Joseph and Marcella, nee Hall, Dugan; and step-father John Rath.
Surviving are his children, Christopher (Shanna) Dugan of Birdsboro Pa., Lisa (Jake) Leftwich of Levittown, Pa., Jason Fowler of Tampa Fla., and Deanna Fowler of Arlington Va.; daughter-in-law Alice Dugan of Croydon; and grandchildren, Sean, David, Ashlyn, Payton, and Harper, who will dearly miss him.
