Obituary

Joseph Charles Barbata, 68, of Maryville, Ill., born April 18, 1946, in St. Louis, Mo., died Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2014, in St. Louis, Mo.

Joseph was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church, Troy, Ill. He served his country in the United States Airforce and was a retired banker. He enjoyed Cardinals Baseball, playing music, riding his motorcycle and most of all the time he spent with his nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph M. and Katherine, nee Tedeschi, Barbata; and sisters, Mary Ann Wilson and Anita Dodwell.

Surviving are his wife, Mary K., nee Neudecker, Barbata; children, Joan (Mike) Linenfelser of Troy, Ill., Tom (Brooke) Barbata of Rifle, Colo., and Tony (Andrea) Barbata of St. Louis, Mo.; and grandchildren, Jacob and Zachary Linenfelser, Josh, Hannah, Abby, Parker and Justice Barbata and Ella and Anthony Barbata.

Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, 2014, at Richeson Funeral Home, Troy, Ill., and again from 8 to 8:45 a.m. Friday, Oct. 17, 2014, at St. Jerome Catholic Church, Troy, Ill.

Funeral services will be held at 8:45 a.m. Friday, Oct. 17, 2014, at St. Jerome Catholic Church with Father Pat Jakel officiating. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Mo.
