Joline M. Smith, 87, of Highland, IL, born February 12, 1930 in Chicago, IL, passed away Thursday, November 23, 2017 at her home in Highland, IL

Joline was a member of Troy United Methodist Church, Troy, IL, Troy United Methodist Women and TUMS. She was a long time member of the New Hope Chapter 432 OES.  While attending Collinsville First United Methodist Church she was a member of Dorcas Circle.  She was a graduate of the class of 1951 Methodist Hospital of Central Illinois School of Nursing in Peoria, IL, and worked in nursing prior to raising her family.  Joline was a former girl scout leader and member of the Highland Garden Club. She was so proud of her family and was always happy when she was spending time with them.

She was preceded in death by her husband Luther R. Smith whom she married September 30, 1950 in Aroma Park, IL and he passed away August 6, 1989; parents Howard J. and Florence A. (nee Fowler) Shoven; sister, Karen (Al) Dirks; a grandson and a great-grandson

Surviving are her children; Sharon (Thomas) Eberlin of Alton, IL, Luann "Hootie" (Jack) Bodine of Springfield, MO, Kathleen (Jon Bettale) Haven of Columbia, MO, Carol "Susie" (Paul) Reed of Collinsville, IL, Lana (Roger) Hediger of Highland, IL, Lori (Guy) Cunningham of Maryville, IL, Scott "Buddy" (Carol) Smith of Redondo Beach, CA and Jay (Tammy) Smith of Bradley, IL; Twenty two grandchildren; twenty seven great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; nieces; nephews; cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am Friday, December 1, 2017 at Troy United Methodist Church, Troy, IL, with Rev. Dr. Andy Adams officiating.
Graveside services will be held at 11:30 am Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Mound Grove Gardens of Memory, Kankakee, IL.
