John Teofil Kossakoski, 84, of Troy, Ill., born June 7, 1923, in Winchester, N.H., died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2007, at Elmwood Nursing and Rehab Center, Maryville, Ill.
Mr. Kossakoski was a retired marketing executive. He was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church in Troy, Ill., and a was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict.
He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Kossakoski; and his parents, Stanislaw and Mary C., nee Minatt, Kossakoski.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara K., nee Griffin, Kossakoski, whom he married Jan. 12, 1946, in Winchester, N.H.; his sons, Richard (Wendy) Kossakoski of Troy, Ill., and John (Cindy) Kossakoski of Tulsa, Okla.; his daughter-in-law, Mary (Vince) Kossakoski-Bralts of St. Joseph, Mich.; two brothers, Harry (Ala) Kossakoski of Waldol, N.H., and Richard (Fern) Kossakoski of Keene, N.H.; his grandchildren, Jana, Emily, Erin, Collin, Seth and Kelly Kossakoski, Kellie Hurwitz, George, David and Michael Grix and D'Shai Bellargeon; and six great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Troy Library or the Troy Senior Center.
Visitation: Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, 2007, at Laughlin Funeral Home in Troy, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral Service will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, 2007, at the funeral home with Pastoral Associate Lorraine Senci officiating. Interment will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Mo.
