John Patrick "Jay" Evans, Jr. 63, of Troy, IL, born April 8, 1956 in St. Louis, MO passed away on Monday, June 17, 2019 at DePaul Health Center, Bridgeton, MO.

Jay was a graduate of Truman State University and member of Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity. He served the City of Troy for over 23 starting with the Zoning Board in 1991, was Alderman 1993 to 2014, serving twice as Mayor Pro Tem, and was currently serving on the Zoning Board of Appeals. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 235 and Troy Kiwanis. He enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals Baseball. John was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was well known by many as the "Soccer Dad".

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Patrick Sr. and Jean Caroline (nee Agnew) Evans.

Surviving are his wife, Kim (nee Wisdom) Evans of Troy, IL; son, Ian Patrick (Tiffany) Evans of Malden, MO; daughter, Kelsey Jean (Glen) Baum of Manhattan, KS; grandchildren, Charleston and Lynden Evans and Katleya Baum; brother, David (Linda) Evans of Arkadelphia, AK and sister, Wanda (Frank) Rosebery of Huntsville, AL; uncle cousin and friend.
