John F. "Jack" Schmerbauch, 86, of Troy, IL, born Monday, June 5, 1939, in Troy, IL and passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, in Alhambra, IL.

Jack was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church, Troy, IL.  He managed Marnick Thoroughbred Horse Farms in Troy, Il and Ocala, Fl.  Jack worked for United Steel Workers Local 67.  Jack loved his family and enjoyed the times they spent together.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles H. and Julia B (nee Sutton) Schmerbauch; his brothers, Roy, Charles, Arthur, Marcus, George, Daniel, Joseph, Erwin and Robert; and his sisters, Viola Schmeig, Ella Prendiville, Blanch Nix and Paulene Lewis.

Surviving are his children, Micki (Mike) Pedigo of Troy, IL. Pam (Paul) Strausbaugh of Worden, IL and Don Schmerbauch of Troy, IL; grandchildren, Jake (Taylor) Strausbaugh, Kevin (Tiffany) Pedigo and Angela Pedigo; great-grandchildren, Millie Joe Rubin, Mikayla Pedigo, Dakota Pedigo, Ali Pedigo, Sophie Strausbaugh and Sadie Strausbaugh; his sister, Dorothy Schmerbauch of St. Louis, MO; Nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
