John W. "Jack" Rees Sr., 87, of Naples, FL, formerly of Troy, Il, born Friday, August 28, 1936 in Highland, Il and passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 in Naples, FL surrounded by his family.

Jack graduated from McCray Dewey High School in Troy, IL.  He attended McKendree  College, Lebanon, IL receiving his Bachelor of Education.  He then attended Southern Illinois University Edwardsville where he received his master's degree and specialist certification in Education.  He work for the Triad School District for over 40 years as a teacher, assistant principal and school bus supervisor.  Jack was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Verla (nee Marchan) Rees.

Surviving are his wife, Dorothy (nee Dively) Rees whom he married in 1957 and she resides in Naples, FL; his children, John William Rees Jr., Michael Henry (Lynn) Rees, David James Rees, Allen Matthew (Tina) Rees; and adopted daughter, Susan Rees; his grandchildren, Lea (Andrew) Collins, Amanda Rees, Sarah (Cris) Riley, Chris Rees, Emily (Derrick) Sage, Nicole (Michael) Dutt, Andrew Rees, Donald (Renuka) Rees, Steven (Anna) Rees, Casey (Josh) Frank, Nathan Rees and Zachary Rees; and 7 great-grandchildren; along with many friends.

Funeral services will be held 11 am on Saturday, June 29, at Troy Methodist Church, Troy Illinois with Rev. Dan Perry officiating.  Interment will be in Friedens Cemetery, Troy, IL
