John F. "Jack" Holshouser, 81, of Collinsville, Ill, born Jan. 3, 1928, in Granite City, Ill., died Monday, Feb. 9, 2009, at his home.
Mr. Holshouser owned and operated O'Fallon Tool and Die and Illinois Specialty Manufacturing, Marion Specialty Manufacturing, Reed Welding and Machine and Holshouser Machine and Tool. He was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus in Edwardsville, Ill.
John was preceded in death by his son, Larry J. Holshouser; parents, William and Margaret, nee Breyer, Holshouser; brother, Robert Holshouser; and sisters, Betty Stephens, Delores Rieger and Kathryn Cimiotta.
Surviving are his wife, Laverne, Nee Howerton, Holshouser; son, Richard J. "Rick" (Brenda) Holshouser of Edwardsville, Ill.; daughters, Diane (Michael) Grisham of Raleigh, Ill., and Christine (Keith) Underwood of Troy, Ill.; grandchildren, Paul Holshouser, Andrew Holshouser, Nicholas Holshouser, Amanda Oberneuffermann, Jennifer Oberneuffermann, Daniel Grisham, Tim Grisham, Maggie Underwood and Zac Underwood; great-grandchildren, Kayla Holshouser and Bella Summers; brothers, William (Marge) Holshouser of Highland, Ill., James (Betty) Holshouser of Caseyville, Ill., and Edward (LaDonna) Holshouser of Glen Carbon, Ill.; and sister, Carolyn Lee of Troy, Ill.
Memorials may be made in the form of Masses, to Hospice of Southern Illinois or to charity of choice.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2009, at Laughlin-Richeson Funeral Home in Troy, Ill., and from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, 2009, at St. Jerome Catholic Church in Troy, Ill.
Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, 2009, at the church with Monsignor Virgil Mank officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon, Ill.
