John T. Astrauskas, 90, of Troy, IL, born May 26, 1927 in Collinsville, IL, passed away Sunday, April 8, 2018 at Stillwater Senior Living in Edwardsville, IL.

John was a faithful member of St. Jerome Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #9266, Troy, IL. He served his Country in the United States Army during WWII. He retired from Swift and Company after 43 years of dedicated service. His real passion in life was his farm and working in the soil. He loved his family and enjoyed all the time he was able to spend with them.

He was preceded in death by his parents Casimir and Catherine (Polonius) Astrauskas; siblings, Al, Charles and Philip Astrauskas, Josephine Flaherty and Mary Thez.

Surviving are his wife Doris K. (nee Conway) Astrauskas of Troy, IL, whom he married June 10, 1950 at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Collinsville, IL; children, Mike (Donna) Astraukas of Troy, IL, Sue (Rich) Grodzicki of Troy, IL, Diane (Rick) Walkenbach of Troy, IL and Chris (Dr. Dan) Goodenberger of Festus, MO; grandchildren, Rick (Jessica) Grodzicki, Laurie (Kevin) Gough, Lana (Chris) Brown, Kent Grodzicki, Nick Astrauskas, Katie (Travis Moudy) Astrauskas, Kurt (Dr. Drew Van Boening) Walkenbach, Blake (Megan) Fuhler, Kali (Kyle) Patterson and Dori (Kyle) Cash; great-grandchildren, Owen and Ellie Grodzicki, Chloe and Claire Gough, Caleb Brown, Emma Grodzicki, Adelynn Moudy, Eli, Zeke and Nora Fuhler, Scarlett and Layla Patterson, Grady and Gavin Cash; Uncle, Cousin and Friend.

Friends may visit 5 to 8pm Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Richeson Funeral Home, Troy, IL and 9 to 10 am Thursday, April 12, 2018 at St. Jerome Catholic Church, Troy, IL. Rosary services will be said at 8pm Wednesday at the Funeral Home.

Funeral Mass will be said at 10am Thursday, April 12, 2018 at St. Jerome Catholic Church, Troy, IL with Fr. Paul Habing officiating. Interment will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Blackjack, IL.
